Successful Fingal Business Forum 2024 Showcases Strategic Initiatives for Regional Growth

The Fingal Business Forum 2024 was held today as an engaging online webinar. Organised by Fingal Chamber in collaboration with Fingal County Council, the forum attracted a diverse audience of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and key stakeholders eager to explore the strategic initiatives shaping the future of Fingal.

The event featured insightful presentations from esteemed speakers, including Ann Marie Farrelly, Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, and Aoife Sheridan, Senior Executive Officer in the Department of Economic Development. They provided a comprehensive overview of the essential services and initiatives funded by commercial rates, emphasising the strategic direction and economic development priorities for Fingal.

AnnMarie Farrelly highlighted Fingal's dynamic growth, underpinned by robust infrastructure and collaborative efforts. "Fingal's economy will be dynamic, sustainable, and inclusive, enabled by strong infrastructure, collaboration, and skills," she stated, underscoring the council's commitment to fostering a prosperous business environment.

Key topics discussed included the development of the Balbriggan Economic Zone, significant infrastructure projects such as the Broadmeadow Greenway and the Snugborough Road Interchange, and plans for enhancing transport and storage facilities. These initiatives aim to support various sectors, including ICT, life sciences, financial services, tourism, and agri-food.

The forum also addressed critical community issues and ongoing planning enforcement measures, particularly related to Dublin Airport's expansion. With a projected 25% increase in passenger numbers and a suite of 11 infrastructure projects, the council is focused on balancing growth with community needs and environmental considerations.

Anthony Cooney, Chief Executive of Fingal Chamber, emphasised the importance of such forums for fostering active engagement and collaboration within the business community. "This forum serves as a crucial platform for businesses to actively engage with the leaders shaping the trajectory of Fingal's economic landscape. It is imperative for businesses to stay informed and participate in discussions that directly impact our community's growth and prosperity," he remarked.
