Fingal Chamber is pleased to present the findings of its latest Business Sentiment Survey, an essential tool for shaping and refining the Chamber’s advocacy and policy framework.
According to Fingal Chamber CEO, the key survey findings indicate that housing and rental accommodation have emerged as top concerns, directly impacting Fingal’s competitiveness. “A concerning consequence of this is that the lack of affordable housing is directly linked to difficulties in recruiting and retaining staff, exacerbating the talent deficit in the region.
“The survey highlighted that 32 million passenger cap is a concern for 50% of survey respondents who indicated that it would impact their businesses.”
This year’s survey, conducted between May and June 2024, provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities facing businesses in the Fingal region. The insights gained not only highlight the critical issues facing the business community, it also helps the Chamber to tailor its advocacy and support initiatives to address these challenges effectively.
“It is hugely encouraging to note that 75% of respondents have a positive view of Fingal as an investment or growth location for doing business and that a significant number of businesses are optimistic about their growth prospects. Many expect increases in revenue, profits, and staff numbers, reflecting a resilient business community,” Mr. Cooney added.
The Fingal Chamber remains dedicated to its mission of advocating for the business community, providing essential support, and driving positive change in the region.
The Chamber’s collaboration with Skillnet Ireland is a testament to this commitment, offering technical and non-technical training across multiple sectors to address the skills deficit.
“The survey is a great temperature check of where Fingal businesses are at and what the immediate future holds. It forms the basis of our advocacy and policy work as we continue to champion the challenges facing businesses in Fingal. The Chamber remains steadfast in its support, working diligently to advocate for practical solutions and foster a thriving business environment in Fingal,” concluded Mr. Cooney.
Fingal Chamber will continue to collaborate with Government Ministers, MEPs, the Mayor of Fingal, Fingal County Council, and local representatives to promote pro-business and employment initiatives that will benefit the regions vibrant business community.
