Terms and Conditions - Fingal Business Awards

Eligibility

  • The Awards are open to all businesses and organisations operating in Fingal.

  • Applicants may nominate their own business or be nominated by others.

Entries

  • Applicants may enter up to four award categories, but only one entry per category is permitted.

  • All applications must be submitted through the official online Awards system, with every section of the form completed.

  • The online system will not accept answers that exceed the specified word counts. Supporting documents and additional pages may also be uploaded.

  • Judges reserve the right to move an application to a different category if it is considered more suitable. Applicants will be notified if this occurs.

Assessment Process

  • Talent, Business Excellence, and Sustainable Business Impact categories: Judges will assess written submissions and shortlist finalists. Independent judging panels will then evaluate these entries, and finalists will receive access to feedback and results.

  • Customer Experience categories: Judges will assess written submissions and shortlist finalists. Finalists will then be evaluated by mystery guest researchers, who will provide detailed results.

Category Requirements

  • Business Person of the Year: Nominees must have been in their current role for at least two years.

  • Young Business Person of the Year: Entrants must be aged 35 or under on 1 January of the relevant year.

  • Large or Corporate Business: More than two units, or more than 50 employees, or an annual turnover exceeding €10 million.

  • SME: Fewer than 50 employees and an annual turnover below €10 million.

  • Start-Up / New Business: Entrants must be established three years or less.

  • Hotel Category: A researcher will complete a one-night stay. The cost must be waived or covered by the entrant through either a PO number (for reimbursement), a voucher code, or a voucher document submitted via Fingal Chamber.

Obligations of Finalists

  • Shortlisted finalists cannot withdraw from the competition.

  • Attendance at the Gala Awards Presentation Evening is mandatory to be eligible to receive an Award.

General Conditions

  • Information submitted through the application process (excluding commercially sensitive material) and contact details may be used by Fingal Chamber and/or its media partners for promotional purposes relating to the Fingal Business Awards.

  • Scheduled dates are subject to change.

  • It is the responsibility of applicants to update Fingal Chamber with any changes to their contact details during the process.

  • Any entry found to contain false or misleading information may be disqualified. Judges reserve the right to audit information provided.

  • The organisers reserve the right to withdraw an award where necessary.

  • The judges’ decision is final.

Agreement
By submitting an entry to the Fingal Business Awards, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
