One United Voice for Business as Fingal Chamber and North Dublin Chamber Join Forces
In a landmark move that signals a new era of collaboration, Fingal Chamber and North Dublin Chamber have announced a merger to create a dynamic and unified chamber of commerce, poised to elevate the local business community to unprecedented heights.
This amalgamation brings together the strengths, resources, and expertise of two respected institutions, forging a path towards enhanced opportunities, advocacy, and support for businesses.
With a shared vision of fostering economic and commercial growth, the newly combined chamber is set to become an even greater driving force for the region's business landscape.
Established in 1994, Fingal Chamber supports and promotes the interests of member businesses and organisations to facilitate their growth and success. This involves providing advocacy, networking opportunities, training and development programs, and other resources and supports to businesses in the region.
Members benefit by having a voice in decision-making and policy, learning through bespoke and subsidised training, enhancing business visibility and credibility, and building connections through networking.
As the only Chambers Ireland accredited Chamber of Commerce based in the region, Fingal Chamber also works with Government Ministers, MEPs, local authorities, and local representatives to deliver pro-business and employment initiatives for the region.
Following a decision to merge from their respective member-led boards, from today, the single, stronger Chamber will represent businesses in the region from Drumcondra in the South to Balbriggan in the North, Howth in the East and to Castleknock in the West.
Fingal Chamber President, Kevin Smith said:
“As an independent membership organisation, this amalgamation will have great benefits for the Chamber through enhanced efficiencies, increased impact, and greater member reach. It also brings together a more diverse group of business leaders, who can provide the combined Chambers with fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a broader range of experiences to draw upon.
“For members the good news is that it means expanded networking opportunities which can lead to more valuable connections, partnerships, and business opportunities. It also increases their visibility and exposure which can lead to more marketing opportunities and brand recognition.”
“In recent years we have developed successful partnerships with Skillnet Ireland and Adare Human Resource Management to offer members enterprise-led subsidised training and HR advice. This merger with North Dublin Chamber is the next positive step in our ongoing collaboration efforts, as we believe further Chamber consolidation is required across the region as it ultimately leads to maximising resources and greater outcomes for the wider business community.”
Outgoing North Dublin Chamber President, Marina Bleahen said:
“North Dublin Chamber has represented businesses in the North Dublin regions of Glasnevin, Finglas, Santry, Coolock, Ballymun and Drumcondra successfully since 1986. We are very proud of the wide range of businesses we have connected and worked on behalf of during that time. We are particularly proud of our partnership with Dublin City University and our work together to drive entrepreneurship in North Dublin.
“Following positive discussions between both Chambers it was agreed that it makes better business sense to join forces to improve services and streamline our representation efforts, to become a strong united voice for businesses in North Dublin.
“Joining forces with Fingal Chamber will add further value to our members through enhanced advocacy and representation, and greater resources and services. We are excited to see the opportunities and potential of this stronger business network.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our members, current and past Council members and sponsors for all their support over the last four decades, your contribution made North Dublin Chamber the great success it is and now it is on to a new even more powerful and vibrant chapter with Fingal Chamber.”
A series of member and stakeholder briefings will be held in the coming weeks. For more information, visit www.fingalchamber.ie.
