Description: DCU’s Access Programme was established in 1990 to create equality of access for students from under-represented groups in higher education. It has since supported over 3,800 students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue a higher education. As the closest university to Fingal, DCU enjoys close ties with the area. Of 1,258 Access students supported in 2018/19, 113 were from Fingal, representing 9% of the Access student population. DCU Access to the Workplace was added in 2019 to provide Access students with high quality summer work experience in established workplaces. 1 in 5 host companies and students placed were from Fingal.
