Tommy Kelly – Entrepreneur and Former CEO of ESW

Tommy Kelly knows what it takes to scale. He founded ESW (formerly eShopWorld) in 2010 and grew it from a six–person start-up in Dublin into a multi-billion global ecommerce powerhouse, driving growth for some of the world’s biggest brands in over 200 markets.

A serial entrepreneur he cut his teeth as founder of TwoWay Forwarding & Logistics, building it into one of Ireland’s largest logistics companies before selling to Aramex in 2006.

Post the sale of ESW, which he still chairs, his family office, CastleGate is one of Ireland’s most prolific investors. Alongside a global portfolio of public and private sector holdings it supports and advises a new wave of tech enabled businesses - from Sherry FitzGerald in property and fintech, to sports and medical analytics at Danu Sports.

In this interview, Tommy will share his perspective on growth, leadership, and the lessons learned from building businesses with international reach.

The interview will be led by Ian Kehoe, co-founder and editor of The Currency.
